Spring Sketches

 It seems that spring has been a long time coming but there is finally a sense of renewed life at our pond.

Green pen is a fun choice to capture the translucent, glowing neon greens of spring.

The two small very neon green sketches were done with a new little Pilot Petit1 fountain pen. I always think that I'm going to leave my sketch as just a monochrome pen sketch but then I can never seem to keep from adding at least some watercolor.

The ink in these pens in not waterproof so by using a brush and water you can get some lovely washy effects.
